GPS Action Replay 2006-01-07 |
What did BizB do today? Well, you can see for yourself! But first, let me tell you a bit about what you're going to see. I build a set of ice-skates for my skateboard and I went to Sand Lake to try it out. I knew there was ice on the lake despite the warm temperatures because the local Ice-Yacht-Club was planning on racing on that lake today. It would seem that they know someone up there who gives them updates on the ice conditions. They listed the ice as safe sometime yesterday.
I knew the ice-skateboard was going to be okay, but not great. The blades are really short and there's nothing to put my feet into - strap wise. Plus, the wind was supposed to be really light.
Much of what I suspected was true... about the skateboard. The wind wasn't as light as I thought it was going to be. And, I had limited success. I managed to hit about 18 mph on one pass but my feet kept slipping off the board. There was much walking after having slid off the board.
The solution to this is to rig longer blades on my mountainboard and use that next time. I've got BigBro lining up some help for that.
Like I said, though... you can see what I did for yourself. I took my GPS unit with me and I recorded my tracks. Then, I uploaded them to my PC and used a program called GPS Action Replay to build a replay of my day's events. Watch it HERE.
If you don't have Java installed, it won't work. |
